Making a premade diecut quote your own!

Hi everyone!! Valerie here!! I love using premade diecut quotes on my cards, they make my life so much easier since I have a hard time stamping straight!! Most of the diecuts have simple, nondescript shapes. But, that's where the handy 4 in 1 punches and templates come in handy!!

For the card I made, the quote from My Mind's Eye was just a circle, but I wanted to make it fancier and add my own touch to it, so I used the circle stencil set the 12cm mark and cut my cardstock circle (using my circle cutter, of course!!), making sure to mark the spots where I needed to punch around the outside of my circle. I used the 905 4 in 1 punch  with the A inserts (and no positioning parts) and punched around the outside edge of my cut circle. I then matted the diecut quote on top of my punched circle!

I also punched the border across the bottom of my card (using the same punch that I used on my circle), and lined the inside of the card with a contrasting color so the punched edge would really show.IMG_0045 (1280x853)
I then punched three butterflies using the 604 butterfly punch. I applied some bling to the centers of the butterflies and the punched border, tied a pretty ribbon across my card and I was done!! I love the way the punched edge really makes the quote pop on the card!!

Have fun creating – We'd love to see what you create using the border punches and tools!! Link your projects to your comments here so we can give it some love!! 🙂
